La Esquina

If you are ever in New York. You have to check out the speakeasy La Esquina. From the outside a charming little mexican food bar, inside, down the stairs and through the kitchen a semi-hidden bar with some of the best magaritas around. Corner of Kenmare and Cleveland. Check it.

Home.

So, I haven't posted anything in a long time. Too long. I got back from a work trip to America a couple of days ago with the hope of jumping onto the computer and immediately uploading photos and stories. So far I've been too busy catching up on everything back home. America was amazing, San Francisco, Washington and New York. I was only in NYC  for 3 and a half days (4 and a half if you count the missed flight home and 10 hour wait at LAX) and let me tell you, I am in love.

BOY

If you are not from New Zealand,  I hope you can still appreciate the genius that is New Zealand film maker Taika Waititi. I met him once (after perhaps one too many drinks), and he's awesome, really humble and friendly, just like a good ol' kiwi should be. His most recent movie, BOY is super amazing, and if you are from NZ, it's one we are all proud of and can certainly relate to on one level or another. If you have not done so already and you get the chance, go and watch it. Well worth it.

My good friend also bought to my attention the crazy horses website, it is also worth checking out - but probably best to after you have seen the movie so it makes more sense. Brilliant. Check out the crazy horses website here.

NYC

I am going to be in New York in less than 2 weeks. Words cannot explain my excitement. Pictures may not either but here are a few for you anyway. Any Ideas on where to go/shop/eat/what to see??

Okay. This photo has nothing really to do with New York, other than that it was taken there. But I think this image, and the one below, are beautiful photos of meticulously crafted shoes, in WOODEN lasts. Perfect.
